How to Upload and Sign External Documents on SeedLegals

Looking for an easier way to upload and sign documents? We've got you covered. You can now upload files directly to the platform, whether you need a signature or want to keep them on record.

From investment plans to probation confirmation letters and everything in between, managing your documents just got a whole lot easier.

Follow these easy steps to upload, assign, and share a document for digital signing:

How to Upload a Document and Assign a Signatory

Step 1: Navigate to the My Documents section in the left sidebar.

To upload a document, first go to the My Documents section of your SeedLegals account. Then, click the Upload button.

Step 2: Upload Your Document

You can:

  • Browse and select a file from your device, or
  • Simply drag and drop the file into the upload area.

💡 You can also upload multiple files at once.

Step 3: Automatic Signature Block Placement

If the document requires signatures, make sure the file is in PDF format. You don’t need to manually insert signature blocks, the platform will automatically insert the signature blocks for you.

Step 4: Assign a Signatory

Assign the document to the relevant signatory, whether an individual or a company.  Please note that currently, the platform supports assigning only one signatory per document.

💡 Example: To notify an employee to review and sign an NDA, simply select their name as the signatory.

Step 5: Name and Describe the Document

You have the option to name the file and add a description to make it more specific and relevant. Once done, click Save.

Step 6: Share the Document

When everything is ready, click the Share button. The signatory will be notified and can sign in to their SeedLegals account, navigate to the My Documents section, where the document will be available for them to view and sign.

💡To make life easier, you can share a document with an entire group (e.g., team members, investors, founders) in one click, such as sending an Employee Privacy Policy to all employees.

You can also track the status of your document, whether it’s been shared or signed, right from your dashboard.
